    Helpful staff.

There is nowhere to put this point, so I put it in this box. The only thing that does annoy me is having warm breakfast food, instead of hot food. The breakfast bar should be switched up to a higher setting so all customers have hot food.

The facilities were very good. Lovely patio are which overlooked a river. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the restaurant. The rooms were very pretty, clean, comfortable. Ours had a little window seat which gave a view of the river. Tea/Coffe and bottled water available in the room. Pleanty of towels, nice flat screen Tv. Plenty of car parking. All in all we would recommend this hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

Motel style so straight from car to room with cases.

Luke warm buffet style breakfast and having to ask for my tea topping up at breakfast repeatedly, much prefer my own teapot!

    Staff very helpful

They did not make up our room for the second night stay

Room was not clean. No hot water.. Moved to another room with no heating and 2 beds pushed together. Very uncomfortable as matresses kept moving apart

  • Couple

Quality of food poor. When we asked for what we had actually ordered from room service rather than what we were given we were made to feel like we were being awkward. Hotel also tried to charge for an extra breakfast.

    Where I needed to be

No hot water in the room. Tepid Staff did not repond or offer compensation or alternative arragements. Shower head poor flow. Wireless internet did not work... again complete lack of urgency by the staff to sort this out so I never had it working over the three days. The wired internet connection offered in the business centre was heavily firewalled; blocking port 22 (SSH) VPN connections and Skype. This is no good in a hotel purporting to be a busienss hotel and making the calim of internet connection meaningless.

We were attending a wedding reception nearby so did not spend much time in the hotel. On arrival a wedding was taking place with children running around in the reception area, so did not think it was appropriate to sit and relax and went straight to the room. The room was in a building next door which was like a rabbit warren to find, however the room was clean and acceptable for one night

We requested a double room but found two single beds pushed together! on leaving another guess complained about the same and managed to get a discount. I felt like requesting the same, but we had already paid. I can appreciate why the hotel does this but this arrangement is not a double bed as suggested. I have stayed in worse

Difficult to identify anything that we liked best - the staff were friendly and helpful, so this is probably the best feature

The stay was characterised by a series of irritations - the tap water in the room was not drinkable and bottled supplies had to be requested from reception; service in the restaurant in the evening was very slow - we had to wait 40 minutes for our meal; newspapers ordered did not arrive; by 4.45 pm on the first full day of our stay the room had not been serviced; checkout procedures were unprofessional - bill not presented until after payment had been taken. On average, I stay in about 40 hotels per year, all with a similar rating, and this was the most disappointing.

The hotel provides value for money accomodation and is located near to both Hemel and Aylesbury. The room was clean and quite large - perfectly adequate for a business traveller

The excellant service began from booking in to booking out. Room was comfortable. I will stay again.

    early closure of restaurant.

I am sorry to say that there were few pluses to highlight my stay at The Watermill.

Attitude of staff very poor, room not ready at agreed time. Bar service terrible, tumblers were used to serve wine!

The attention and efficiency of the staff

Pity one side of the bed in 105 was against the wall.

  • Older travelers

    it's geografical location.........

it doesn't have any attraction or activities facility..... it needs a convinient store; and a better active Bar / coffee shop where people can hang out if they do not want to go out.....

  • Older travelers

    Location, free parking.

You could smell stale cigarettes in our room and we are both non smokers.
