nice easy access, super relaxing location. very pleasant and friendly staff all at a very appealing price. would use again without hesitation.
For what it cost the hotel was fine. We had dinner in the pub opposite which was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Only issue was that I was given a room that was already occupied, it could have been quite embarrassing, fortunately it wasn't. As a result we were upgraded to a larger room.
I didn't like the fact that the waterfall was making too much noise therefore I was unable to sleep. The noise was unbearable as the window refused to close. As a result the room was very cold and this lead me to switch on the heater making the room very stuffy. One of the lights on the right hand side of the room was hanging off the wall. I was not told about the authorisation process and I was charged more than what was agreed. The bed was unusually uncomfortable.
The comfort and cleaniness of the room,
At breakfast was not enough staff for the amount of guests, so we was left ages to recieve anything ie: tea/coffee, toast, we had eaten our breakfast by time that had came which was approx half hr and at to ask 3x
room was comfortable and clean. nice bar area and easy to find
The gentleman on the front desk at check in was polite, friendly and helpful, this made me feel encouraged about my booking immediately. The price is very competitive with those nearby. Parking is available and easy. The room had everything we could possibly need.
Compared to other local hotels I have stayed in, including a Best Westerm the bed in the room we had was by far the smallest which was a lil disappointing. The hot water tap in the bathroom sink was far too hot I nearly burnt myself when using and it concerned me that if there had been a child in the room there could have been an injury.
easy booking and checkout, polite staff, good breakfast, warm and clean room, plenty of hot water
Clean, spacious room with good facilities and adjacent to reception and car park which is always a bonus when carrying lots of luggage, equipment etc. Arrived in the dark but got quite a nice surprise in the morning to find a family of ducks swimming around just below my window - guess the name of the hotel should have given me some clue as to the watery theme. All in all, very impressed for the money and would stay there again.
As a lone female traveller I felt completely safe in my room, when checking out the receptionist was lovely and very helpful. The room was very comfortable.
There is nothing I really disliked about the hotel, except perhaps the TV channels were limited.
Fairly average hotel, much improved on the last stay some month ago
The location was quiet and agreeable. It was a change from the modern but characterless hotels one normally sees.
The hotel needs renovation.
Proximity to Berkhamsted. Reasonable price.
"Double" room had double bed in the corner of the room with single bedside table, obviously set up for single business guests. Bit of a stale odour, needs refurbishment.
relaxed - good service, clean and tidy
A very friendly and relaxed hotel, a great way to spend the end of a busy day!
I like the bar area. It's not too large, has a homely, comfortable feel to it.
